Assistant Professor Accounting
The University of Nevada, Reno Department of Accounting is seeking candidates to fill an Assistant Professor position in Accounting. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all specialties are encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities will include courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Faculty are expected to publish regularly in academic and practitioner accounting journals and maintain a strong research agenda. Work experience in accounting and professional certification are strongly desired. Candidates must be willing to teach in the evenings, since some courses are offered at this time. Starting salary is AACSB competitive for tenure-track positions in Accounting. The start date for the positions is July 1, 2020.
The Accounting Department has approximately 260 accounting majors in the undergraduate program and 30 majors in the master of accountancy program.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting (or Ph.D. in Accounting) from an AACSB accredited university by the time they commence employment. Instructional excellence and the ability to publish in quality peer reviewed journals is expected. Applicants must have the ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills is required.
Work experience in accounting and professional certification.
Recent teaching experience.
