Associate Professor: Substance Use Disorder Intervention
The School of Social Work at San Diego State University (SDSU) is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the Associate Professor rank for Fall 2019. The School of Social Work offers co-jointly with UC San Diego a Joint Doctoral Program in Interdisciplinary Research on Substance Use (https://chhs.sdsu.edu/irsu/ ). The School is also home to nationally recognized training programs that include BSW and MSW degree programs, and a BA in Gerontology.
Associate Professor Position: We seek a researcher in Substance Use Disorders (SUD) with specialization in opioid and translational research who will enhance SDSU's strategic position as a leader in the growing field of addiction science. Candidate experience in intervention development and ability to address national and international problems related to substance use (including prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery). Teaching experience at the graduate level is strongly desired as the successful applicant is expected to teach in our Joint Doctoral Program (JDP) in Interdisciplinary Research on Substance use. A candidate will mentor and support student success, conduct cutting-edge SUD research, and translate science to serve communities impacted by addiction. A candidate must demonstrate evidence of success and show strong promise in obtaining extra-mural research funds. A doctoral degree in social work or a related field is required (e.g., Public Health, Psychology) with MSW preferred.
