Applications are currently being accepted for Senior Secretary in the President's Office, located at San Diego City College. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the organizational structures, operations, objectives, policies and procedures of the College and the District.Oral and written communications skills, including correct English usage of grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, to provide excellent customer service to internal and external audiences.Positive interpersonal skills, especially tact, diplomacy, and courtesy, and ability to deal with difficult or challenging clients or visitors.Perform responsible and complex secretarial and clerical work with speed and accuracy, including preparing and analyzing detailed records, schedules and reports.Experience with advanced record-keeping techniques and ability to create and maintain complex filing systems.Ability to independently plan and organize work daily workload as well as understand and follow detailed oral and written directions. Ability to exercise excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters.Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, meet schedule deadlines, and manage multiple project or task timelines within a busy work environment.Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including mid-level or higher computer skills in Microsoft Office applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based applications.Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

Pay Information:
Range 21 ($3,501.42 $5,589.05) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule.

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
