Postdoctoral Researcher, Environmental Science & Engineering

The University of Delaware seeks a post-doctoral scientist with a background in environmental science or environmental engineering and with expertise in life cycle analysis of food systems and/or energy audits. This position is initially for 6 months with extensions possible based on mutual interest and satisfactory performance.

The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, College of Engineering, and College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The successful candidate will help develop a methodology to quantify the direct and indirect energy use by selected food categories (e.g., corn, poultry), including: data collection from existing national and state-wide databases and from local agencies and businesses; data down-scaling and disaggregation; and analysis with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
