Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the functions of the Legal Clinic. Several of the chief tasks include performing general clerical tasks, scheduling appointments, maintaining client files, maintaining office supplies and equipment, typing letters and legal documents, and receiving phone calls.

Scope:
Support the Legal Clinic through overseeing general office functions and assisting the Clinic Director, legal interns, and staff attorney

Principal Responsibilities
Perform general clerical tasks including greeting and directing office guests, receiving phone calls, sorting mail, scheduling appointments and court hearings, and maintaining the office calendar. Overseeing the client intake process and checking for client conflicts. Working with clients to schedule appointments with interns. Opening, maintaining, and closing client files and clinic and externship student files. Monitoring, maintaining and order in office supplies and equipment. Typing letters and legal documents and notarizing documents as needed. Running errands to the post office and various courts to deliver documents.

Required Skills:
Excellent organization and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. Ability to perform moderately complex procedures using basic analytic ability. Ability to work in small groups or project teams. Ability to work with all types of people. Commissioned as a notary public in Ohio. A minimum of 3-5 years experience working in a law office.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Vocational school, technical school, certification, training or an apprenticeship beyond high school
- Commissioned as a notary public in Ohio
- At least three to five years of similar office experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal Associates Degree
- Five or more years of paralegal experience
