Infulfillment of this mission, UC Online invites candidates to the position of Market Researcher.
The Market Researcher (MR) is someone who is energized by creating and leading research to better understand potential student needs and desires. The MR is responsible for assessing the size of future online degree program opportunities, why students choose UC Online, developing competitive assessments for new programs, creating personas for UC Online and assisting in taking those personas to the program level, prepping new programs for launch at UC Online and the overall brand equity of UC Online. This role will influence the UC Online program pipeline, program staffing support structure and prospective student targeting.
This position requires a passion for understanding people and uncovering insights, motivations and hurdles for prospective students. The RM will need to combine data analytics with insights. The person will need to be comfortable setting up testing to find the data, analyzing the results and making a recommendation. This role will operate primarily in more ambiguous whitespace/upstream/future pipeline projects. The RM should have the ability to work well with cross-functional team members and will work with other UC teams and external vendors.
The successful candidate will be comfortable handling different sizes of data sets and working in ambiguous, early stage development efforts. This individual will be a self-motivated learner, adept at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, and managing interactions with constituencies across the institution at various levels. This position will require someone who is adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities, demands, and timelines, demonstrating strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. The candidate should have strong creativity, innovation, problem solving, follow-through and communication skills. The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and two (2) years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with four (4) years of relevant experience; OR six (6) years of relevant experience.
Ideal Candidate
- Possess degree in Social Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, Data Analytics, or other relevent discplines.
- Will have experience leading research and working on upstream/whitespace projects.
