Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree

• Master's Degree
• Prior experience working with students and/or within a higher education environment.
• Bilingual
General Function:
The Completion Coach serves as the main point of contact for an assigned group of students to guide them to achieve academic success. The Coach works to counsel, motivate, advise, assess student needs, goals, and interests, and review prior academic experience. Coaches use review of predictive analytical data to provide targeted outreach efforts to students who fall into an at-risk category. Coaches provide a high level of customer service support and ensure students are made aware of all available college resources to assist them in achieving academic success. This position will include coverage of the centers evening and weekend hours.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
(Duties and responsibilities listed are examples of work performed and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate.)
• Work with Director, Student Success in regard to retention initiatives for the College
• Serve as advisor for first-time freshmen with students transitioning to a faculty advisor after completion of 24+ hours
• Create Student Academic Plans for assigned students in DegreeWorks product
• Use institutional and predictive data to identify academically at-risk students
• Provide individualized outreach to students based on use of above described data
• Work with individual students to develop realistic goals that will contribute to academic and personal success; develop interpersonal student partnerships to higher order thinking
• Work closely with admissions, financial aid, and academic personnel to provide accurate and appropriate information to students regarding college policies, programs of study, degree options, appropriate course selection and fulfilling degree requirements
• Demonstrate knowledge regarding Motlow State Community College degree requirements and course offerings
• Demonstrate knowledge regarding College policies and procedures
• Assist recruiting team with new student orientation sessions for incoming freshmen students
• Demonstrate flexibility in regard to work schedule. particularly during peak times
• Facilitate coaching appointments and follows up with students
• Participate in training and other professional development activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
