Assistant Professor of Lighting Design

The School of Theatre Arts at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin August 1, 2019.  Candidates should possess an MFA and have experience teaching design and related technical courses in lighting and sound, and instructing in shop situations at the undergraduate level. This position combines both teaching and production responsibilities. Our current two/three year course rotation includes Technical Drawing, Lighting Design, Fundamentals of Design, Theatre Laboratory/practicum, introductory Lighting and Sound technology, Sound Design, and upper level Practicums.  Expertise with Vectorworks and Q-Lab software required.  Further responsibilities include: Designing or supervising student designers for our Mainstage and laboratory season and supervision of undergraduate students enrolled in Theatre Laboratory to mount lighting designs and sound rigs.  Nine-month appointment at a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Effective date:  August 1, 2019.  Illinois Wesleyan University is an EOE and invites applications from women and minorities.
