Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College is seeking applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor, Higher & Postsecondary Eduation - Diversity, Equity, and Global Engagement tenure-track position. The successful candidate will build a program of research and scholarship in the field of higher education, with a particular emphasis on diversity, cross-cultural perspectives, and/or global engagement, that complements the work of current ASU faculty and expands our impact nationally as well as internationally.  The Assistant/Associate Professor will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty and administrators, including interdisciplinary higher education-focused projects with other ASU schools, colleges, institutes, and administrative units. Major responsibilities include: (1) teaching in the Higher & Postsecondary Education program, (2) advising and mentoring graduate students; (3) establishing and maintaining a record of scholarly productivity focused on diversity, equity, and/or global engagement, as demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, external funding, and presentations at national conferences; (4) collaborating on the growth of the Higher & Postsecondary Education program; and (5) providing service to the program, institution, profession, and community.

Required Qualifications:

• Earned doctoral degree from an accredited university in Higher Education or related field with a clear specialization in Higher & Postsecondary Education (must be conferred by position start date, August 16, 2019)
• Evidence of topical expertise in one or more of the following areas in higher education: diversity, global engagement, social justice, equity, internationalization, comparative studies, indigenous populations.
• Demonstrated promise of scholarly productivity for candidates applying for Assistant rank, or a documented record of scholarly productivity for candidates applying for Associate rank
• Experience teaching and/or working with diverse student populations
• Candidates qualified for the rank of Associate Professor must also be eligible for tenure at Arizona State University

Desired Qualifications: 

• Graduate teaching experience in higher education administration or leadership
• Experience supervising and/or mentoring graduate students
• Record of program and/or course development, particularly with hybrid or online formats
• Evidence of grant-seeking and other external funding-related activity and success
• Scholarship aligned with college and university-level initiatives related to global engagement
