Instructor, Technical/Professional Writing

The Department of English at Missouri State University (in Springfield, Missouri) invites applications for the position of Instructor of Technical/Professional Writing. Duties of the position include teaching undergraduate technical/professional writing classes (online and seated), advising students, holding office hours, critiquing students’ work and returning feedback in a timely manner, submitting grades by the deadline, participating in program assessment, and participating in service as appropriate. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

 

This is a 9 month, non-tenure-track position to begin August 2019. One-year renewable contract with no term limit; renewability depends on departmental need and successful performance.

 

MA (or higher degree) in Technical/Professional Writing, English, or related field by August 15, 2019; demonstrated excellence in teaching, and experience in technical and/or professional writing.
