Biology Postdoc

The Biology department at Swarthmore College is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral researcher who will conduct research under the supervision of Associate Prof. Eva-Maria Collins in the field of biological physics. This NSF-funded position is for a research project aimed at deciphering how asexual planarians can generate population diversity. The research combines theoretical biophysics with bioinformatics and experimental molecular and cellular biology. Interdisciplinary trained applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to work closely with undergraduate students at Swarthmore and faculty, postdoc and student collaborators at UCSD and the University of Pennsylvania. Applicants should have a PhD in Physics, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Bioengineering, or a related field, and demonstrated experience in theoretical biophysics or bioinformatics. Prior experience and/or explicit interest of mentoring undergraduate students is preferred.
