Associate Professor/Professor

The Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama is seeking a senior research faculty member to align with our University's new Life Research Institute. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years teaching experience and a history of significant extramural funding and publications, with an emphasis on a specific age-related population, such as older adults, child-bearing women, or children. The primary responsibilities of this faculty member will be conducting research, securing extramural funding, and mentoring junior faculty and graduate students. The Capstone College of Nursing has over 2,000 students enrolled in programs leading to BSN , MSN , DNP , and EdD degrees. At the MSN level, we offer concentrations for Case Managers, Clinical Nurse Leaders, Nurse Administrators, and Nurse Practitioners. Our interdisciplinary EdD program is designed specifically for nurse educators and is jointly taught by faculty with expertise in nursing and education. A new PhD program has been approved and will open during the summer of 2019.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field, five years of academic experience, recent extramural grant funding, and be eligible for licensure in Alabama. Preference will be given to candidates with graduate level teaching experience and/or certification as a nurse practitioner. Applicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter addressing their research and teaching experience and future goals along with a current curriculum vitae. Prior to employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background investigation. Position could begin as early as January 1, 2019.
