Position Summary:
Tenure track (academic 9-month) position at the Assistant Professor level specializing in Food Chemistry. Research areas include, but are not limited to: 1) small or large molecule chemistry; 2) chemical and biological properties of molecules relevant to food and related biomaterials; 3) development and elucidation of novel, chemical-based phenomena related to the quality, safety or sustainability of food materials. The position includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and serving as advisor to graduate and undergraduate students.

Viable candidates will demonstrate a record of or potential for: 1) individual and collaborative extramural grantsmanship (e.g., USDA, NSF, NIH) with publications in reputable journals; 2) instructional innovation and student-centered teaching in an undergraduate food chemistry course with potential contributions to other courses within the curriculum; 3) support of education within the graduate program; 4) contribution to outreach, extension and service functions of the Department, College, University, and professional societies.

The position carries a commitment to the three functions of resident instruction, research, and outreach/service, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to the positin and rank.
