Department: Law School

Position Type: Part Time - Temporary

Rate per Hour: $13.00

Job Summary Law School proctors are responsible for proctoring student final exams. They play an integral role in ensuring the efficient administration of exams and are expected to act in a calm, professional manner at all times. Exams are held throughout the year (see below for next available exam dates). Exams are not held on weekends. Proctors must be available to work most of the days exams are being offered, as well as attend an orientation session prior to the exam period.

Exam Dates: Tuesday 12/4/18 through Monday 12/17/2018

Shifts Available:

  • Shift #1 - 11:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Shift #2 - 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm (limited openings)
  • Accepted candidates may have the opportunity to work both shifts depending on their availability and exam staffing needs.



Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): Monitor test-takers in multi-level classrooms and in hallways located on different floors of the building during exams by constantly moving about those areas for extended periods of time Ensure that students follow the established exam guidelines Check student picture ID's for sign-in at start of exams Obtain additional supplies, as needed Conduct yourself quietly during exams to ensure student concentration Manage classrooms to ensure proper student seating Distribute exam materials and provide scripted guidance to students Promptly bring student's question forms to staff members Maintain accurate timekeeping records during exams Be aware of what's happening in the classroom at all times and address issues immediately and appropriately Collect exams in an orderly fashion.

Qualifications: HS diploma or GED Good interpersonal skills, emphasis on being an effective team player Strong communication skills, capable of reading instructions to a large group and able to report on any irregularities Punctuality and reliability Ability to maintain full alertness during exams Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and patience in demanding situations Professional and courteous work ethic and demeanor Ability to follow the procedures set forth in our Proctor Handbook.
