Description :
The Institute of Crime Science (ICS) is an institute within the University of Cincinnati's School of Criminal Justice, located in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. The ICS is currently recruiting for a qualified Jr. Research Associate to assist full-time staff in research, process and program evaluations, and training (risk assessments, evidence-based practices, and group facilitation-including presentations to law enforcement and public health professionals, opioid response and gun violence reduction). Additionally, the Jr. Research Associate will assist the ICS with operational strategic planning and coaching for various law enforcement and public health agencies that the ICS provides consulting services.Specifically, the Jr. Research Associate will work under the direction of the full-time staff in the ICS to ensure the successful completion of all projects. In addition, this position will require some national, regional and local travel, approximately 1-2 weeks per month.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Criminal Justice from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- 2 years of experience in the fields of policing/law enforcement.
- 1 year of experience in managing large data sets.
- 1 year of experience, which must include all of the following: SPSS database management, Geographic Information Systems, and Crime Analysis.
