Locum Large Animal Anesthesia

The School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, New Bolton Center Hospital for Large Animals - invites applications for a Locum position in Large Animal Anesthesia.
Requirements include a DVM / VMD or equivalent degree and board eligibility/certification in veterinary anesthesiology ( ACVAA , ECVAA ). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment is effective August 1, 2018, or as soon thereafter as possible, for interim period until a soon to be advertised faculty position can be filled. This position can be filled in one contiguous appointment, or in a series of smaller negotiable increments.
Clinical responsibilities include both primary anesthesia care and supervision of anesthetic management of equine and other large animals, including research animals, by students, interns, residents, and veterinary technicians and involves participation in after-hours anesthesia services. The candidate is expected to participate in the academic program of the Section of Anesthesia including clinical and laboratory teaching of veterinary students, interns, residents and technicians/technician trainees.
New Bolton Center is located in a rural setting in scenic Pennsylvania Hunt Country, approximately 35 miles southwest of the main University Campus in Philadelphia. The anesthesia/surgical patient population is predominantly equine with approximately 1,100 patients anesthetized each year.
