Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in a research or related field. Candidate should have demonstrated understanding of Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges Principles of Accreditation, concept of continuous cycles of improvement, and college-wide Institutional Effectiveness processes and plans. Candidate understands research methodologies, interprets data, and presents data in written and oral formats. Experience with Microsoft Office and data analysis required. 3 years of statistical, accreditation, or higher education experience required. Experience with survey software/data manipulation packages, institutional assessment, research, and full-time collegiate teaching experience preferred.

General Function:

This position is responsible for leading and managing comprehensive and college-wide Institutional Effectiveness and assessment efforts. The candidate interprets and disseminates SACSCOC principles, guidelines, and policies, particularly as they relate to Institutional Effectiveness and assessment; interprets and disseminates data that support decisions related to strategic planning, budgeting, and enrollment management and other activities that support the MSCC Mission.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

(Duties and responsibilities listed are examples of work performed and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate)

• Direct/supervise college-wide Institutional Effectiveness processes and plans

• Provide support and training for individuals, departments, and units regarding Institutional Effectiveness

• Ensure compliance with SACSCOC principles, policies, and procedures related to Institutional Effectives and assessment

• Serve as SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison

• Oversee yearly institutional strategic planning

• In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Institutional Research, oversee the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of data and information to prepare internal and external reports, and conduct Cost Study, NCCBP, IPEDS, and other external surveys in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Research

• Assist with Quality Assurance Funding efforts of the college and take the lead for reports and requests for the Tennessee Higher Education Commission related to Quality Assurance Funding

• Compile, complete, and submit annual Quality Assurance Funding Report by August 1

• Oversee and administer Academic Audit/Program Review processes for Quality Assurance Funding

• Assist with outcomes-based funding reports and requests

• Oversee and administer budgets for the department

• Serve as liaison with TBR on issues dealing with institutional planning, outcomes-based funding, academic audit, and institutional data gathering activities

• Work cooperatively with faculty, curriculum chairs, and deans to promote assessment and evaluation

• Implement collaborative assessment instruments

• Analyze assessment data and facilitate interpretation of date for informed decision-making

• Serve on campus- and state-wide committees, as appropriate

• Travel to each campus to meet with appropriate stakeholders
