Visiting Assistant Professor - Early Childhood Education

The School of Education of the University of Cincinnati is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor to support the Early Childhood Education Program. The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach undergraduate level courses in Early Childhood related to early literacy methods and classroom management; accreditation coordination and supervise in field experiences in the program; participate in program meetings, accreditation planning and program improvement and development work; work collaborative with faculty and schools/districts in support of program needs; and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Job Description: On a full-time basis for two years, the faculty member's principal academic functions include teaching, supervising, coordinating CAEP, creating programs and assisting with NAEYC SPA.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned Master's Degree in an appropriate discipline and prior experience as a university instructor and prek-3 teacher in the P-12 education system.

Preferred Position Qualifications: Earned Master's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education; Ph.D. in literacy preferred, experience serving as a teacher in public school setting; experience teaching and supervising preservice teacher candidates in higher education; experience with Blackboard, TK20 and computer skills; experience with data collection, entry and analysis; ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the community; strong written and verbal communication skills.
