Admissions Associate (2018-196)

Job Description:

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:
The Admissions Associate is responsible for recruiting new students by cultivating relationships with communities of faith, while also working directly with prospective students through networking events, site visits, and on campus recruiting at Brite. The person in this position will be particularly engaged with, and have a working knowledge of diverse educational institutions, churches, and communities. Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Promotes Brite's ethos of scholarship, justice, and practice by working with the Admissions Associate and the Associate Dean for Admissions; developing recruiting strategies; designing and implementing on-campus and off-campus programs; creating and editing informational and promotional publications; coordinating, implementing, and/or staffing programs and events; representing Brite at recruiting events; conducting special tours.

Recruits students by conducting informational and evaluative interviews; advising prospective students on educational and career decisions; evaluating transcripts and supporting documents; determining the prospective student's educational needs and the appropriateness of Brite for their educational journey.

Actively engages social media and other activities that promote Brite; works to identify and recruit prospective students through calls, maintaining rapport with pastors and recommenders in the region and beyond; connecting with ministry contexts in higher education and colleges (Wesley Foundations; United Ministries in Higher Ed); communicating application status and facilitating student enrollment.

Monitors expenses by gathering and reporting travel and admissions programming expenses; facilitating and monitoring invoices and purchase orders, scheduling and reconciling expenditures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduate theological degree

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Valid Texas Driver's License.
Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Knowledge of presentations and interpersonal relationship techniques.
Knowledge of customer service techniques.
Knowledge of multi-cultural diversity on campus.
Knowledge of graduate school life.
Knowledge of relevant TCU programs.
Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office.
Ability to establish priorities.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally.
Ability to draft grammatically correct correspondence.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:
Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
