Job Description
Ace Program Mentors offer guidance and support in academic, personal, and service-oriented development by creating high-impact educational experiences and fostering a learning environment focused on collaboration and achievement. Both mentors and mentees benefit from collaborative learning, enhanced problem-solving and communication skills, and team-oriented leadership opportunities.

Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Florida Gulf Coast University during time of hire and work period.
Able to work flexible hours on days, nights, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications
An ACE Program Mentor must demonstrate the following qualifications:
• FGCU cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Leadership abilities
• Inter and intrapersonal communication skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Extensive knowledge of campus resources
• Ability to exercise good judgment
• Support for a diverse student population
• Understanding of healthy boundaries in peer mentoring
• Ability to effectively and professionally utilize technology

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
As a part of being an ACE Program Mentor you will be expected to fulfill the following roles:
• Attends all training and team meetings prior to the fall term and throughout the academic year. Attendance at a mentor training session is mandatory.
• Creates opportunities for mentees to participate in service learning, campus life, social events, and other activities as assigned.
• Develops a professional relationship with a mentee.
• Completes mentor meetings with mentees.
• Maintains a mentee activity log which must be turned in to the Mentoring Program Coordinator at specified intervals.
• Assists mentees with academic and co-curricular goal planning and follow-through.
• Assists mentees with utilizing Canvas, Degree Works, Eagle Collegiate Link, Eagle Career Link, and Eagle Mail.
• Introduces mentees to campus resources (i.e., faculty, staff, and academic and personal support offices).
• Serves as a knowledgeable referral agent.

Other Duties
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
