Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The System Analyst provides technical support for an alumni/development data system of more than three million entity records serving staff at twelve USM institutions and offices (University of Maryland, College Park; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; University of Maryland Eastern Shore; University of Maryland University College; the University of Maryland Center for Environment Science; Towson University; Coppin State University; Bowie State University; Frostburg State University; Salisbury University, The Universities at Shady Grove and the University System of Maryland Foundation).

The System Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining web-based and in the near future cloud-based applications, data interface/transfers to and from multiple reporting environments, identifying data integrity issues, and developing and implementing statistical strategies for the improvement of the member institution's advancement efforts. This position also provides assistance on both custom developed and Over the Counter ( OTC ) software systems. The position coordinates with Team Members to provide local data administration, as required, and assisting with any current and future upgrades; supporting other data querying and reporting efforts across Ellucian Advancement as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.):
B.S. in Computer Science or related degree, or combined business degree with relevant certifications and/or experience in web development environments.

Experience:
A minimum of five years experience required, preferably in web development using RDBMS Procedural Languages, Python, Ajax, JavaScript and/or . NET . Knowledge of Salesforce, Advancement Services, e.g., Ellucian's Advancement product, Web Services and/or Cloud Based computing.
Experience must include:

-Applications development in full life-cycle environment with proven systems analysis, development, deployment and testing track record.
-Hands-on experience developing/designing Web Applications along with a SQL procedural language backend.
-Developing enterprise applications for data transfers and interfaces.
-Evaluating, recommending, implementing and teaching new software tools and processes.
-Direct interaction with customers and stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Technical knowledge to include developing/maintaining web-based and/or cloud based applications.
-Ability to perform multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
-Willing to learn new technologies including but not limited to mobile application development
-Ability to effectively communicate with team and customers in a fast-paced environment is a necessity.

Preferences:

Certifications in any of the following:
ColdFusion, Python, ASP . NET , XML , JavaScript, Ellucian Advancement education, E-commerce.
