The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine in Ohio is offering a full-time Radiologist Faculty Positionin theDepartment of Radiology with the working title of Vice Chair of Operations & Quality.In conjunction with hospital administration and the Department Chair, the Vice Chair of Operations & Quality will oversee the clinical operations of the Department, assure safe and effective care is provided to patients in Radiology, assure compliance with appropriate regulatory organizations, and perform continuous quality improvement on all radiology operational activities. The ideal candidate is expected to have leadership experience in an academic radiology department and should be an expert in current imaging modalities and practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate UC Health values of respect, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.

The Vice Chair of Operations & Quality will report to the Chair of Radiology and will have a collaborative working relationship with the Executive Director of Business Administration, Directors of UC Health, Section Chiefs and other Vice Chairs within the Department of Radiology.

Job Duties :
  • Oversee clinical activities in Radiology, setting standards and expectations for imaging services.
  • Work with PACS and RIS teams to improve operational efficiency
  • Seek and encourage operational improvements as required, particularly those impacting clinical workflow
  • Quantitatively monitor departmental performance and facilitate operational initiatives to attain hospital operating goals
  • Facilitate implementation of radiology quality improvement initiatives
  • Oversee physician accreditation process for hospital privileges, immigration requirements and state licensing requirements
  • Oversee the attending physician clinical schedule and work with administrative staff to make improvements
  • Act as liaison for UC Health administration with the radiologists and communicate information in both directions
  • Provide excellent communication to referring providers about imaging services and procedures
  • Review and approve clinical policies and protocols with the hospital radiology director and others as required
  • Monitor quality, safety, efficacy, timeliness and appropriateness of support services provided by faculty and trainee physicians, technologists, nurses and other support staff and take appropriate action based on these findings
  • Participate on UC Health committees as representative of Radiology
  • Provide leadership skills training opportunities for departmental Section Chiefs
  • Participate in medical education of residents and other trainees
  • Serve as a resource to the hospital for development of new Radiology programs
  • Attend pertinent meetings as requested by the Department Chair or UC Health administration
  • Collaborate with UC Health leaders and the Department Chair in development of strategic initiatives
  • Lead projects and initiatives as requested by the Department Chair


Minimum Requirements :Applicants must be ABR/AOBR certified or eligible and eligible for an Ohio medical license. Rank and Track will be commensurate with experience and credentials of candidate.
