Library Project and Communications Analyst

Compensation

Salary Range: $4,693 /month - $8,002 /month

About the Position

The Library Project and Communications Analyst provides project planning, communications and project assessment for the University Library, simultaneously managing multiple library projects on time and on budget. The Library Project and Communications Analyst develops cost and time estimates for projects as directed by the Senior Management Team and leads the communications strategies for the Library. The Library Project and Communications Analyst will evaluate the success of projects and assist with strategic planning, marketing and award campaigns, and improving customer service in the library.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Communications and Marketing
-Guides, develops, and implements the Library's communications strategy to advance the Library's mission, visibility and fundraising.
-Creates and manages various communications and marketing plans for Library programs and services.
-Produces a wide range of online and print communications materials to support special events and initiatives.
-Researches, plans, writes, and edits content for internal and external Library communications.
-Researches and applies for Library award opportunities.
-Promotes the Library in partnership with the campus's Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs.
-Stays current in the field of communications, in particular social media marketing and trends.

Project Management
-Provides administrative support to Library Administration in formulating, developing and modifying library policies and procedures for the management of projects.
-Works closely with the Associate Deans and the Library Management Team to clarify the goals of proposed projects.
-Communicates project status and potential risks to Library Management.
-Identifies library staff required to complete an assigned project.
-Develops detailed project plans.
-Estimates the cost and other library resources required to complete an assigned project.
-Coordinates project team meetings and presents updates to all library employees.
-Works closely with project team members throughout a project.
-Maintains a portfolio of active and proposed projects.
-Maintains an archive of completed projects.
-Researches and analyzes potential projects and makes recommendations to Library Administration.
-Analyzes completed projects for lessons learned and potential improvements.
-Assesses quality improvement and customer service standards.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and four years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

-Experience developing business communications and or/marketing campaigns
-Experience using social media as a component of a communications strategy

-Experience with communicating ongoing project developments

-Experience managing projects with a variety of internal and external contributors.
-Ability to prepare project budgets and analyze funding allocations.
-Ability to participate in long range planning through the collection, organization, analysis and interpretation of data and information.
-Ability to employ analytical, problem-solving and fiscal decision-making skills.
-Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate work to meet established deadlines.
-Experience leading cross-organization teams.
-Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment; handle multiple work priorities, organize and plan work and projects.
-Ability to interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive communications with employees and external agencies.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and work in a team environment.
-Solid understanding of library operations.
-Experience producing communications materials.
-Must possess outstanding oral and written communication, presentation, customer service, and public relations skills.
-Must possess demonstrated consultative skills in working with internal and external constituent groups.
-Ability to be flexible, adapt quickly to new assignments, and work under pressure.
-Knowledge of the institution and library policies and practices associated with the ethical use of and access to library resources.
-Knowledge of library operations in relation to overall goals of the University.
-Ability to simultaneously, manage multiple library projects on time and on budget.
