Associate Director, Digital Communications

The University Communications and Marketing (UCM) team has responsibility for marketing and brand management, communications, public relations, and editorial services all in support of the priorities of Tufts University.

Partners with UCM colleagues to establish content strategy for the university s main social media properties and top-level digital channels for the university (e.g., tufts.edu, alumni/campaign website), and then executes that strategic vision. Ensures that channels are tightly synchronized in support of the university s mission, key messages and goals related to revenue generation and reputation building. Works closely with colleagues in the Marketing, Public Relations, and Editorial teams to develop content marketing plans around key university initiatives, to support marketing goals as well as objectives for reputation growth. Measures the effectiveness of various channels and makes determination on the investment in new channels.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience with digital content, including content marketing.
  • 2 years of management experience.
  • Extensive experience in social media and digital communications, with demonstrated experience in growing social media audiences.
  • Superior visual storytelling and verbal skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to problem-solve creatively, and a strong orientation toward teamwork and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a not-for-profit or university setting.
