Wichita State University seeks an experienced, dynamic, and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the College of Engineering.  This senior administrative appointment will assume leadership of a very strong and diverse unit, with a growing national reputation. 

The university is located in Wichita, Kansas, a diverse metropolitan area of approximately 640,000, and is located along the I-35 corridor.  The economic base of the region is in technology-based industries, aviation and health care.  The university has a strong research base and is taking a leadership role in developing innovation and technology in the area.

The dean reports directly to the Provost and serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Engineering. The primary responsibility of the dean is to advance the academic quality and stature of the College that is student centered, innovation driven, and entrepreneurial focused. This requires a visionary leader who is committed to strategic planning, inter-disciplinary collaboration, ethical leadership, and who is skilled in human and financial resource management. The dean will assist with the advancement of WSU as an innovation university by focusing on increasing enrollment, applied learning, funded research, tech transfer, and private fundraising. Close collaboration with industry, entities on the innovation campus and in the University’s National Institute for Aviation Research will be essential.
