Specialist I, Library Technical

Auburn University Libraries is seeking dynamic, creative, results-oriented applicants for the position of Specialist I, Library Technical for the Cary Veterinary Medical Library. Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student workers; overseeing circulation activities; providing circulation desk coverage; answering questions and assisting patrons with use of the library; scanning documents for document delivery and AUBIExpress; processing print journals for check-in and binding; managing an e-Book webpage; updating new books list on library website; keeping statistics; designing library displays; ordering supplies; and other duties as required. May represent the department on committees and task forces. On occasion non-traditional hours may include some nights/weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry into applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience managing and processing complex data or materials in a library setting and familiarity with computer applications. Employer will consider advanced degree in lieu of experience.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate quality customer service, attention to detail, and possess excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills. The ability to work as a team member is essential.

Desired Qualifications
