Head Women’s Track and Field Coach

Clarion University is accepting applications for the Head Women’s Track and Field Coach. Duties and Responsibilities: Clarion University is an NCAA Division II member which competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Clarion invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Track & Field Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for all phases of the women’s track & field program. The Coach is also responsible for recruitment of prospective student-athletes, academic success of student-athletes, scheduling, attending meetings with alumni and other public relations events, organizing fundraising activities in support of the track & field program and Clarion Athletics, adherence to NCAA rules and regulations, and general administrative duties. The Head Coach will be evaluated based on the competitiveness of the program, overall student-athlete development by way of a meaningful educational experience for student-athletes, and for establishing a sport culture in which he/she is viewed by the student-athletes as a mentor, educator, and role model. In addition, the Head Coach will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of the University and its Intercollegiate Athletics program as well as adherence to Departmental, University, Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures. Position is contingent upon the availability of funding.

Required qualifications include three or more years of coaching experience at the collegiate level with a focus on all areas and events in track & field; earned Bachelor’s degree; demonstrated ability in skill instruction; prior experience in recruiting; demonstrated ability to fundraise; proven commitment to academic success of student-athletes; prior experience in budget, fiscal management skills, other administrative duties; understanding of NCAA rules compliance; excellent organizational and communication skills;  and completion of a successful campus interview.
