Assistant Professor- Pharmacy Practice

The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences at the level of Assistant Professor. This position is co-funded by Kroger Pharmacy. Primary responsibilities will include didactic and experiential teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. In addition, the individual will provide direct patient care in the community practice setting with Kroger Pharmacy, as well as precept residents.

The James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy is located on the Health Sciences Campus in close proximity to Cincinnati's Children's Hospital, the Cincinnati Veteran's Administration Hospital, and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, as well as the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health Professions which facilitates partnerships in teaching and research with the faculty from these units.

Kroger Pharmacy is a large supermarket chain that operates more than 100 pharmacy departments within the greater Cincinnati area. The Cincinnati/Dayton Kroger Marketing Area (KMA) is committed to the provision of patient care and the advancement of the profession of pharmacy. Innovative pharmacy designs, including private counseling rooms, allow for improved pharmacist-patient communication. Immunizations and medication therapy management are offered at all pharmacies in the KMA, and more than 90 pharmacies offer health screenings using point-of-care testing. Additionally, Kroger is contracted with a number of self-insured employer groups and payers to provide smoking cessation, diabetes self-management education, diabetes and heart disease coaching, and fitness, nutrition, and weight management programs.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency or fellowship, previous teaching experience, experience in community practice, and demonstrated scholarship. The candidate must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Ohio and Kentucky.
