Research Assistant (Part-Time) - College of Nursing

Research Assistant

Part-time 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week)

The College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a self-motivated individual to assist in research in self-management and symptom science in cancer and stem cell transplant. Part of the responsibility is to assist with the daily operations of the laboratory.

Job Duties:
  • Assist in planning and coordinating of projects. Attend lab meetings.
  • Assist in coordinating lab and field work
  • Assist with preparation of Institutional Review Board protocol submissions, regulatory binders, biosafety compliance, and associated documentation
  • Recruit study participants, schedule and conduct study visits
  • Assist with data collection and data entry into electronic databases
  • Order and organize laboratory supplies and records
  • Assist with experiments involving basic biochemistry using approved protocols.
  • Assist with proposal, report and manuscript preparation
  • Other duties as assigned


Position Qualification:The position requires a minimum BS (preferred MS) degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, other Biological Sciences, or in a related field with experience and a strong interest in clinical and laboratory research.

Ideal Qualifications:Prior experience with laboratory research is a plus. Previous experience working with microbes and participating in human subjects research is advantageous. Opportunity for independent research is also available depending on experience and interest.

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
