UC Clermont College is located in the center of Clermont County on 91 beautiful wooded acres in Batavia Township. Opened in 1972, Clermont College is an accredited, open-access college offering more than 50 associate degrees and certificate programs and a baccalaureate degree.

UC Clermont College is looking for an Academic Tutor for the Upward Bound Program. This position will report to the Program Coordinator of Upward Bound and will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all other activities.

Upward Bound - Academic Tutor Job Description : Under general supervision from the Program Coordinator, work with students in selected Clermont and Brown County high schools, during school hours, to provide high-quality academic tutoring services, which may include instruction in: reading, writing, study skills, mathematics, science and other subjects, to assist participants in completing academically rigorous secondary school coursework, being promoted to the next grade level and high school graduation.

Characteristic Duties
  • Assess participants' academic need
  • Provide basic skills instruction and tutoring to participants
  • Evaluate student progress
  • Coordinate services with Upward Bound Staff
  • Keep detailed records of services provided
  • Submit progress and summary reports to Director
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Perform other related duties based on departmental need
  • Submit progress and summary reports to Program Coordinator.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field; At least one year of tutoring and/or teaching experience; Valid driver's license.

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
