Job Summary : Major duties and responsibilities include studying the molecular and cellular basis underlying dietary and lipid influence on metabolic disorders such as atherosclerosis, obesity/diabetes, liver disease, and tumor progression. Current projects are focused on the influence of apolipoproteins, lipoprotein receptors and lipolytic enzymes in modulating tissue partitioning and sensing of lipid and glucose nutrients and in nutrient modulation of cell signal transduction events. Both in vitro cell culture systems and genetically-modified mouse models are employed for these experiments.
Minimum qualifications : Bachelor's degree in a profession/field or equivalent level of knowledge. Preferred qualifications include skills in tissue culture techniques and proficiency in molecular biology and experience in small animal handling
