Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum three years of organization development experience related to employee engagement, inclusion and diversity including training, consultation, process improvement and HR practices around issues of social justice, employee engagement, and effective diversity skill development.

More specifically, relevant work experience in the following areas:

Engagement, inclusion, and diversity leadership - Extensive experience/skill leading in the area of engagement, inclusion, and diversity to recruit, retain, and sustain a high-quality workforce
Facilitating groups - Experience/skill facilitating discussions with individuals/groups with differing perspectives around sensitive issues and defusing controversy
Communication - Experience/skills clearly expressing verbal, nonverbal, and written ideas, information, and feelings as is critical to relationship building.
Engagement, inclusion, and diversity strategy development - Experience/skill at creating and articulating the characteristics of, and strategies to, foster an engaged and inclusive work environment.
Engagement, inclusion, and diversity knowledge - Content knowledge in the areas of employee engagement, inclusion, and diversity
Survey/metrics expertise - Experience/skill developing and implementing surveys and interpreting/communicating results to others
Competency-based learning - Experience/skill developing and delivering educational events driven by competencies to others
Program evaluation - Experience/skill evaluating program outcomes and impact to inform decision making
Collaboration - Experience/skill developing cooperation and teamwork while participating in a group, working toward solutions that generally benefit all involved parties.
Problem Solving - Experience/skill utilizing a logical approach to address problems or opportunities or manage situations by drawing on knowledge and experience to evaluate options and implement solutions.

Job Summary:

UW-Madison, as one of the largest employers in the state, has over 35,000 faculty and staff located in 32 colleges, schools, and divisions. This position is integral in supporting human resource programs that allow the university to attract, hire, and retain talent in all positions.

The position is located within Talent Recruitment and Engagement (TRE) in the Office of Human Resources (OHR) at UW-Madison, and reports to the TRE Director. TRE serves a central interface point with the campus community to recruit, onboard, retain, and sustain a high-quality workforce prepared to address the challenges of the 21st century in our educational environment.

The Coordinator for employee engagement, inclusion, and diversity leads by actively engaging the UW-Madison community in education, strategy development and implementation, and data management to improve and sustain employee engagement, inclusion, and diversity practices across the University. This person will:
- Consult with staff and faculty on employee and organizational engagement, inclusion, and diversity practices
- Design, implement and maintain employee engagement, inclusion and diversity programs and resources
- Support and implement Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration initiatives (e.g. VCFA EID Council and EID survey)
- Monitor and evaluate projects
- Model a commitment to respect, diversity, and workplace civility
- Demonstrate a commitment to engagement and organizational success

The primary assignment is coordinating UW-Madison employee EID activities; other duties assigned based on organizational needs.
