Adjunct Instructor, Criminalistics

Full/Part Time Status:Part Time Service Schedule:Fall Semester

Position Description:

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology seeks a temporary faculty member to teach "Criminalistics," a sophomore-level course designed to help students understand the theory and practices of crime scene collection, preservation, and analysis of physical evidence. The course introduces students to the functions of the forensic laboratory and its relationship to successful investigations and prosecutions. This course will be offered in person for the fall 2018 semester on Wednesdays, 5:00-7:50 pm.

Education Requirements:

Applicants must have an earned Master's or Doctoral degree in Criminology or related field by time of appointment.

Required Qualifications:

Professional experience working and/or prior teaching in crime scene investigation and/or forensic analysis also required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with previous college-level teaching experience.
