Position Summary

The Chemistry Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position (one-year sabbatical replacement) in the area of organic chemistry. Appointment begins July 2018. Teaching load is two courses per semester. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach the two-semester organic chemistry sequence. In addition, the candidate will be expected to contribute as necessary to laboratory instruction and courses for non-science majors or advanced chemistry courses. A Ph.D. is preferred; ABD considered.

The Chemistry Department is committed to research-based undergraduate chemistry education and encourages research by visiting faculty. Major instruments include 400-MHz NMR , GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC - DAD , ICP - OES , and FTIR .
