The Department of Surgery at VCU Health is seeking a qualified faculty member to join the Division of Acute Care Surgical Services (Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care) at VCU Medical Center and affiliated campuses. VCU is 700-bed Level-1 Trauma Center.



Qualifications: Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery. Fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care, as well as commitment to laboratory and/or clinical research is required. Responsibilities also include teaching residents and medical students. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required. This position is a non-tenure eligible position on the collateral track. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience. Expectation to round at Level 1 Trauma Center, Emergency General Surgery Service in addition to Community Trauma and EGS care.



Richmond and surrounding towns in Central Virginia include a population of 1.5 million and is the seat of the government of State of Virginia. It has a growing economy and excellent public schools to go with mild winters and easy access to many exciting destinations including Washington DC, Virginia Beach, Outer Banks- NC and Shenandoah National Park.
