Description

The Psychology program invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2018. Priority will be given to candidates with research and teaching interests in developmental psychology or candidates whose research and teaching interests demonstrate a commitment to underserved populations, diversity, or social justice. Candidates with teaching experience in these areas are preferred. Given the institution’s strong emphasis on diversity, candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply. 

 

 

Qualifications

UHD is a teaching university; full-time faculty teach a 4-3 course load. Candidates must have received a doctoral degree in psychology or a related discipline from an accredited institution by the time of employment.  Candidates should have an established research agenda in their specialty area, expect to teach undergraduate courses in their specialty area, be willing to participate in a possible future Master’s program in psychology, and contribute to service activities within the department and institution.
