To help support the work of the University we have an immediate opening for a Financial Aid Coordinator. The Financial Aid Coordinator reports to the Assistant Vice President of Financial Aid.

The Financial Aid Coordinator is responsible for determining financial aid eligibility for undergraduate students, providing financial aid counseling and outreach to current and prospective students, as well as, assisting in the overall operation of the department. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise students and families regarding financial aid opportunities offered by the institution, as well as, federal, state, and local
  • Explain federal, state, and institutional policies as they relate to financial aid eligibility
  • Responsible for new undergraduate student packaging
  • Meeting with prospective students and their families to review financial aid packages and to answer any questions
  • Includes in-person appointments, walk-ins, and phone calls
  • Excellent customer service skills in regard to working with families and students
  • Answering phone calls and e-mails from students and families
  • Promptly returning phone calls and e-mails from prospective and current students and parents
  • Assist with Direct loan processing and error resolution
  • Send reminders to students for any and all types of missing financial aid documents
  • Responsible for processing, monitoring and maintaining outside scholarship payments for students
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.  Financial aid experience including knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and programs preferred.  The ideal candidate must also have strong attention to detail, as well as, possess excellent written, oral, analytical, customer-service and interpersonal skills.  Familiarity with Campus Vue is helpful, but not required.
