Health Services Researcher

The Center for Effective Medical Testing and Department of Pathology within the Health Sciences Research Center at the University of Utah invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the University's research track.
Applications are encouraged from researchers with expertise in cost-effectiveness analysis, evidence synthesis, decision modeling, economic analysis, and application of quantitative methods to operational problems in diagnostic testing. Applicants must have advanced training (a doctoral degree (PhD), post-doctoral training or equivalent) in Decision Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Operations Research or related disciplines with evidence of rigorous training and research and demonstrated ability to secure external funding. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
The Center for Effective Medical Testing strives to increase healthcare value by improving health outcomes and reducing costs associated with diagnostic testing. The Center conducts cost-effectiveness studies, evidence synthesis, and operational analysis to improve diagnostic testing. The Center aims to become a leader in health services research related to diagnostic testing.
The University of Utah provides a rich environment for diagnostic research. The Center is associated with ARUP Laboratories which is one of the largest reference laboratories in the United States. ARUP Laboratories is wholly owned by the University of Utah and is operated by the Department of Pathology which has 110 faculty members. The Center is also associated with the Department of Population Health Sciences. Joint appointments are encouraged.
