Position/Job Summary

The Department of Physical Therapy at Ithaca College invites nominations and applications for a tenure eligible faculty position at the rank of assistant professor starting in the 2018-2019 academic year. We are seeking applicants with a strong background in teaching and scholarship with a preference for those with experience in applied/clinical biomechanics. The position requires graduate and undergraduate teaching in Biomechanics, mentoring and advising graduate and undergraduate students, developing an active ongoing scholarship program in one's area of specialty, and ongoing committee and service assignments.

The department is committed to increasing the diversity of the faculty to broaden the academic experience for its students. Candidates who can contribute to that goal are encouraged to apply. The selected applicant will join a dynamic, collaborative department and enhance the learning opportunities in a six-year DPT curriculum that provides a seamless undergraduate to graduate education.

Position/Job Qualifications

Candidates are required to have an academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc). Those who are ABD with completion by August 1, 2018 may be considered with a verifiable timeline detailing the path toward degree completion/dissertation. Candidates must have a defined research agenda and evidence of graduate teaching experience. Candidate's eligibility for NY State PT licensure is preferred, but is not required.
