Assistant Professor of Nursing

Job Summary:
Responsible for course development, lecture, lab and clinical instruction within the traditional baccalaureate Nursing program and/or the RN- BSN completion program. Also responsible for shared duties with lab operation.

Scope:
Ohio Northern University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Nursing.

Principal Responsibilities:
The Faculty has responsibilities that include classroom teaching, campus laboratory instruction, and clinical instruction. It is expected that they possess knowledge and demonstrate expertise in the teaching/learning process. Competency in assigned area of teaching is mandatory. Knowledge of student assessment and basic computer skills are expectations. Participation in University, departmental and program activities regarding ongoing functioning, assessment, planning, and evaluation are required. Participation in scholarly work is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
Should possess skills in areas of student teaching, evaluation, course development, and clinical expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in nursing, experience of at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, and teaching experience. Applicant must hold current, valid, unrestricted license as a registered nurse in Ohio. Current CPR certification (American Heart Association) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an approved registered nursing education program with a preferred doctorate in nursing or related field, or doctorate in progress. Previous Nursing education experience is preferred.
