TITLE IX CASE COORDINATOR

Job Description: (Temporary Position, Expected Duration thru August 1st, 2018) The Title IX Case Coordinator in the Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) coordinates activities related to the University's Title IX complaints. The Title IX Case Coordinator will provide pre-investigation, investigation, and post-investigation administrative and professional support to the OED Title IX team. This position will ensure effective and efficient management of complaints, which includes performing the specific responsibilities listed below. The Title IX Case Coordinator reports to the Title IX Compliance Officer and is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities.
Specific Responsibilities
 Interacts with students, faculty, managers, administrators, and employees at all levels of the University in performing investigative and informal resolution duties.
 Responds to and triages direct, telephone, and electronic information reported about concerns of sexual misconduct, harassment, interpersonal violence, stalking, and other forms of Prohibited Conduct.
 Assists with the intake of complaints and assesses appropriate resolution process and procedural protocol to be followed.
 Oversees interim, continuing interim, and other mitigating measures during and after the investigation.
 Prepares and provides information about the complaint process to Complainants, Respondents, and Witnesses.
 Facilitates, within specific time constraints, informal resolution of Title IX complaints, when appropriate. Documents efforts and conclusion of informal resolution.
 Co-coordinates interviews, provides assistance during interviews, and transcribes interview notes.
 Manages and tracks specific resolution deadlines and provides status updates to relevant parties.
 Collaborates with other campus offices (i.e., Dean of Students, Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, ECU Police Department, Human Resources, Office of Internal Audit, Office Of University Counsel), as appropriate.
 Updates and maintains the complaint databases and confidential personnel files in accordance with University policies and procedures.
 Collaborates with OED staff to provide content for marketing, communication, education and training.
 Performs related duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree with relevant education and experience. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions.
2. Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of the organization.
3. Evidence of strong organizational and administrative skills.
4. Evidence of excellent written and oral communication, and human relations/interpersonal skills.
5. Evidence of ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when completing a task.
6. Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple cases.
7. Ability to work independently.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive cases.
