Job Description: A Technology Manager is needed in the Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Department of Joyner Library (Academic Library Services). The position maintains circulating equipment (e.g. laptops, cameras, ereaders, chargers, adaptors, and calculators) and trains department staff on the use of equipment. Damaged equipment is investigated and sent for repair or replacement. Assistance is provided to department staff with software, computers, printers, and other equipment under the direction of IT Operations personnel. This position programs the cash register, monitors webpages for needed content updates, and performs patron account database maintenance. The position serves patrons at the Circulation desk, which includes: circulating library materials and equipment; processing new patron registrations and material renewals, holds, and recalls; supervising student employee desk assistants; independently interpreting and applying procedures; explaining library procedures to patrons; and solving problems and disputes. This position is responsible for making decisions that affect the immediate borrowing privileges of patrons, accepting payments for fines and fees, maintaining computers in the learning commons area, referring patrons to appropriate personnel to ensure customer satisfaction, and, in the absence of Research & Instructional Services personnel, providing basic research service using the library's website, online catalog, library research databases and tools, and basic internet resources. The position tracks department supplies inventory and processes supply orders. The position also assists the Stacks Manager with the maintenance of the general circulating collection, including with performing routine shelving and cleaning, with inventorying and shifting projects, and with the supervision of student employees performing stacks duties.

The normal work schedule is Tuesday-Friday, 8:00 AM -5:00 PM, and Saturday, 12:00 PM -9:00 PM. One Friday evening closing shift once every four weeks, Noon to 9:00 PM.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Salary Grade Equivalent: 61 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
