EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Job Description: The Executive Director for Student Success is an integral part of the College of Business team, responsible for leading the design, coordination, and implementation of programmatic efforts for the College of Business. The Executive Director provides leadership and supervision to the Center for Student Success including Undergraduate Programs, Graduate Programs, the Career Center, and the Business Communication Center. In addition, the Executive Director will provide oversight and logistical support to College-wide programs and initiatives, and serve as the "programmatic face" for the College. The Executive Director reports to the Associate Dean in the College of Business.

Leadership and Supervision: The Executive Director will provide oversight and direct supervision to the Center for Student Success. The Executive Director will provide guidance on academic policy issues and makes appropriate discretionary decisions regarding the interpretation and implementation of University policies.

Implementation of College Initiatives:
The Executive Director will be responsible for the direction and implementation of College-wide programmatic initiatives including, but not limited to Commencements, COB Retreat, COB Leadership Conference, Business Scholars/Scholarship Program, and the College MAP Program. The Executive Director will also assist the Director of Professional Services and Research in coordinating and promoting the GMAT/GRE/SAT prep courses offered by the College of Business. In conjunction with the relevant directors, the employee will be responsible for the preparation, presentation, and follow-up pertaining to new student orientation both on campus and online. The Executive Director will provide logistical support for existing programs such as Beta Gamma Sigma, Case Competitions, Career Fairs, and new initiatives within the Miller School of Entrepreneurship.

Liaising with Internal/External Constituencies:
The Executive Director will be charged with the creation and implementation of a family program to provide a greater connection with families of current students to the College of Business. The Executive Director will work in collaboration with the SVLC and community agencies to implement volunteer opportunities for the College, enhancing servant leadership characteristics in COB students.

Communications:
The Executive Director takes a comprehensive approach to communicating with various stakeholders. This includes interfacing with College deans, department chairs, faculty, and University constituents including the Provost's Office, Enrollment Services (including Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Office, Student Financial Aid, Registrar, Academic Advising and University Scholarships), and Student Affairs.

The Executive Director will sit on the Collaborative Communication Committee and other College of Business and University committees as appropriate. Some evening and weekend duties/responsibilities accompany this position as directed by the Associate Dean. Some travel may be required.


Minimum Qualifications: The Executive Director must possess a graduate degree (MBA, MA, MS, PhD, or EdD) in a closely related discipline, including but not limited to counseling, adult education, educational leadership, business administration, public administration, psychology or higher education administration from an appropriately accredited institution. The Executive Director must have a minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible management experience and demonstrated leadership. Proven experience managing multiple priorities in a fast paced business environment is required. Strong interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills, the ability to build positive and effective relationships within the College and across the campus and community, and extensive program development experience are essential for this position.
