Job Summary

The Educator has the responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of all the children in the classroom. In addition, the Educator supports the mission and philosophy of the center, provides a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of the infants. The Educator develops and maintains parent relationships and consistently collaborates and supports colleagues in the infant/toddler room as well as center-wide.

Education/Skills Requirements

Associate Degree in early childhood education, or a related field required, and a minimum of 2 years' experience working with children birth - 8 years, preferably in an accredited child care program.

Bachelors or Master's degree in early childhood education, or a related field, with experience in practicum settings and/or summer employment in working with children birth - 8 years.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and a genuine commitment to the field of early childhood education. Flexibility and skills to work with preschool aged children (3-5 years old).

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Experience working with emergent curriculum or Reggio Emilia inspired programs is highly desirable. A valid driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College's Motor Vehicle Use Policy; and current CPR /First Aid certification. Must also sign Child Abuse Policy statement, complete the College's OSHA blood borne pathogen training and show proof of Hepatitis B vaccination (or submit a written declination statement).

Standard Work Days and Hours

35 hours/week between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m, Monday thru Friday. Hours may vary slightly within the standard work week depending on classroom needs.
