Job Summary

Assist the Director of Parent Giving in all fund-raising activities involving Bowdoin parents; assist with the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of parent volunteers, donors, and prospects; recruit and engage parent volunteers in the Parents Executive Committee, the Senior Parents Gift Campaign, and other programs and events, both on- and off-campus; collaborate with leadership gift officers and gift planning officers to connect parents to leadership gift opportunities; serve as liaison to campus colleagues in Alumni Relations, Events and Summer Programs, Student Activities, Communications, Career Planning, and the Office of the President to achieve exceptional coordination of parent giving to, and engagement at, the College.

Education/Skills Requirements

A Bachelor's degree is required. Applicants must possess excellent writing and speaking skills and strong organizational skills; the ability and willingness to travel; familiarity with the common office programs and data management systems, and the willingness to use new systems; and must be able to work independently and in a timely manner on multiple projects with strict deadlines. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge strongly preferred. A valid driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College's Motor Vehicle Use Policy are required.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

A minimum of five years of development/fundraising or related experience.

Standard Work Days and Hours

5 Days/Week (FT) 8:30 - 5:00. Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as travel required. This is an exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements.
