Director of the Career Center

This position provides leadership and vision to maintain and expand UNC Asheville's comprehensive career services center for students and alumni. The Director of the Career Center provides direction for all career development programs and services, including employer relations, career counseling, job search assistance, graduate school counseling, and internship development. Responsibilities include supervising four full-time staff, building strategic partnerships with employers, academic departments, and university offices. The Director also articulates the relationship between career development and a liberal arts education for stakeholders on campus, in the region, and state-wide.Candidates preferred for this position will have:


  • A Master's degree from an accredited university in counseling, education or a directly related field

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience

  • A working knowledge of career development theory and its application in a liberal arts setting

  • Prior supervisory experience
