MENTOR/EVALUATOR

Job Description: The ECU-EESLPD Mentor/Evaluator works directly with a caseload of early childhood education lead teachers who hold or are eligible to hold a North Carolina Birth-through-Kindergarten License and who are employed by nonpublic schools in assigned geographical areas in eastern North Carolina. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the mentoring and evaluation services are delivered according to guidelines and procedures established by the EESLPD Office in accordance with NC State Board of Education policies. This position will report directly to the Project Lead Coordinator in the ECU EESLPD program office. The position will be contracted on a yearly basis and is contingent on funding. Exact pay rate will be dependent on experience and education.


Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of BA/BS degree in early childhood education or related field. Equivalent education, experience and NC Education License may be considered. Three years as a successful lead teacher in a Birth through K age classroom. Experience with the NC teacher education and licensure system, NC State Board of Education policies, training, mentoring and evaluating (pre- or in-service level) early childhood teachers can be considered in lieu of license. Candidate must have transportation and access to a computer, printer, phone and other equipment to carry out the field-based job functions. Teamwork is essential to this position.
