Assistant Professor of Sociology - Tenure Track

Job Description:

Texas Christian University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociology at the Assistant Professor level beginning in the fall semester, 2018. While areas of research specialization are open, we are interested in candidates whose areas would add to the department curriculum and research specializations. We are interested in candidates with desire to teach courses in areas including, but not limited to inequalities and stratification, aging/life course, and urban sociology. Candidates who demonstrate a commitment to service learning, social justice, and community engagement are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Sociology program is part of a collegial, multidisciplinary department in a supportive and progressive academic community committed to social justice. TCU has about 9000 undergraduate students and is situated in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area in close proximity to Fort Worth's cultural and business districts.

Job Qualifications:

Ph.D. is required at time of hire. The teaching load is five courses per year.Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and scholarship.
