Administrative Support - Front Office

Job Title: Administrative Support - Front Office Job Number: 2017-086 Department: Campus Recreation Front Office - 27379 Job Description:
FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Salary: $8.25 per hour

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Be familiar with the Department of Campus Recreation programs, facilities, policies and procedures. Participate in decision-making in the best interest of Campus Recreation and the University Recreation Center.

Exemplify professional attitude with regard to public relations, ensuring that patrons are greeted and welcomed to the center and given accurate information.

Prints and photocopies documents; distributes and/or delivers documents to students, TCU employees and the general public using standard office equipment and in person.

Prepares basic correspondence. Processes financial transactions for various programs. Sets up appointments for massages, personal training and swim lessons.

Enters data into and retrieves data from standard business software, databases, and online systems; posts a variety of information on forms, records, reports, and files.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Required:
  • Some formal education.
  • Be punctual, dependable, and trustworthy.
  • Must be willing and able to enforce all policies of the Department of Campus Recreation.
  • Hold a vast array of knowledge regarding Campus Recreation programs and activities.
  • Attend all staff meetings throughout the year.
  • Have knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and methods, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English in person and over the telephone and in written correspondence.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, tact, and excellent customer service while interacting with others.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic office techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic customer service techniques.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and basic software.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally.


Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.


Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate
