PT Hourly POOL - Physician


Definition
Under the direction of the Director of Student Health Center, the physician provides high quality, evidence-based, out-patient primary care services. The physician also serves in a consulting role in the delivery of medical care by other health care professionals and practitioners in the Student Health Center.
Qualifications and Physical Demands
Education and Experience :
  • A graduate of an accredited M.D. or D.O. medical school recognized by the Medical Board of California or Osteopathic Medical Board of California
  • Completion of a residency program in a specialty appropriate to the assigned duties
  • Valid and current license to practice medicine in the State of California
  • Valid and current DEA certificate and NPI number
  • Current CPR/AED certificate
  • Experience in primary care setting--preferably in student health
Knowledge and ability to :
  • Provide medical care including but not limited to: examining patients, diagnosing illnesses & injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing & administering medical treatments, and initiating emergency treatment of acute medical and psychiatric problems
  • Provide appropriate referrals to specialists and community resources as needed
  • Counsel and educate patients on: related medical problems, healthy lifestyles, and other preventative measures
  • Provide timely follow up on treatment and referrals to ensure the appropriate resolution of illness or injury
  • Effectively use available technology for patient care, operations, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate, complete, legible, timely, and confidential medical records including medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with standards
  • Participate as needed in Quality Improvement, Peer review, Staff meetings, and In-service presentations for development of medical care standards, policies and procedures, and overall goals of the Student Health Center, college health, and the college
  • Communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, lifestyles, identities, and cultures
  • Follow all college policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination practices to ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, procedural, accreditation & health/safety/risk management standards

Conditions of Employment
Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Assignments are short-term, temporary, and do not offer fringe benefits or pay for holidays or time not worked, and are limited to 28 hours per week or 160 days per fiscal year. The hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. SALARY
Appropriate placement based on the PP Salary Schedule. Temporary Support/Medical Professionals Staff Physician is typically $85.00/hour.
